AIG Hospitals has announced the acquisition of the Proteus ONE Proton Therapy System with DynamicARC, a cutting-edge radiation therapy technology from Belgium-based IBA. This marks the first installation of its kind in South-East Asia.
The advanced DynamicARC proton therapy delivers highly precise radiation, targeting tumors while minimizing damage to healthy tissues. It is particularly effective in treating complex cancers, especially in children and adults with tumors located near critical organs.
With an investment of ₹800 crores, AIG Hospitals will establish a state-of-the-art oncology center, making it the third Proton Therapy Centre in India and the first in the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
PVS Raju, Vice Chairman of AIG Hospitals, emphasized the significance of this milestone:
“The acquisition of proton beam therapy technology aligns perfectly with AIG Hospitals’ vision of providing world-class cancer care within India.”
As reported by economictimes, this development reinforces AIG Hospitals’ commitment to advancing oncology care in the region.
