Naturopathy is a distinctive system of medicine that emphasizes health promotion through harmony with nature, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, stated in a written address on Monday. His remarks were delivered during the 7th Naturopathy Day celebration at the Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN) in Nagamangala, Karnataka.

The event, organized by the Ayush Ministry’s Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN), drew over 800 participants, including doctors, undergraduate, and postgraduate scholars from across the country.

Jadhav highlighted the government’s efforts to establish central legislation for yoga and naturopathy and announced plans to expand Yoga and Naturopathy Diet Centres (YNDCs) nationwide.

“We are working on creating a network of research and teaching institutions, including Central Research Institutes in Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN), equipped with 100–200 bed hospitals to facilitate advanced research across various states,” he said.

Currently, two CRIYNs are operational, one in Nagamangala, Karnataka, and the other in Jhajjar, Haryana. Jadhav also noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently laid the foundation stones for 100-bed CRIYN facilities in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and Khorda, Odisha, during Ayurveda Day celebrations. Similar institutes are planned for Assam, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala.

Joint Secretary of the Ayush Ministry, Kavita Garg, emphasized the core principles of naturopathy, stating, “Naturopathy teaches us moderation in eating, drinking, acting, and living. It equips us with the art of self-management to maintain health for spiritual pursuits. Staying in the present moment is key, avoiding dwelling on the past or future.”

As reported by economictimes, the event also honored winners of the YOGATECH Challenge, which recognized startups integrating yoga with modern technology. From over 70 entries, 15 startups were selected as finalists across categories such as devices, IT solutions, and props and accessories. NT Solutions won the Devices category, while Yog4Life secured the top spot in the Solutions category.
