CAIRL Launches in Hyderabad for AI Innovation

The Collaborative Artificial Intelligence Research Labs Foundation (CAIRL) officially launched today at Hyderabad’s T-Hub, bringing together industry leaders, academic experts, and government representatives to discuss India’s AI landscape. The foundation aims to promote responsible AI development through collaboration between academia, industry, and government.

As per the press release, the event opened with a speech by Ramamohan Manamasa, Entrepreneur and Managing Director of Colaberry Private Limited, who outlined CAIRL’s mission to advance AI research and practical applications that benefit society. This was followed by a keynote address from Ram Katamaraja, Founder and CEO of Colaberry Inc., USA, who spoke about the Global AI Research Landscape and the pivotal role CAIRL will play in shaping AI’s future in India.

The Guest of Honour, Shri Jayesh Ranjan Garu, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, IT E&C, Industries Department, Government of Telangana, emphasized Telangana’s dedication to making Hyderabad a global center for AI talent and innovation.

A highlight of the event was a panel discussion titled “AI 2030: Envisioning the Future of Artificial Intelligence in Industry and Society,” moderated by Dr. Suraj Bansali, Director of Clinical Development at Elanco. The discussion focused on AI’s transformative potential over the next decade, exploring disruptive innovations, ethical concerns, and sector-specific applications. Panelists included:

To further its mission of responsible AI innovation, CAIRL has outlined several key initiatives:

• Collaboration with the Telangana Government: Partnering with the government to advance AI innovation and research, strengthening Hyderabad’s AI ecosystem.
• Academic Partnerships: Building collaborations with leading academic institutions to drive AI research and talent development.
• AI Researcher Database: Creating a comprehensive database of local and global AI researchers and research projects to facilitate knowledge exchange.
• Promotion of Open-Source AI Projects: Encouraging open-source research to enhance transparency and collaboration within the AI community.
• AI Talent Development: Focusing on developing a skilled AI workforce through partnerships with industry and academia, positioning Hyderabad as a hub for AI expertise.
