Engineering Student with Multiple Sclerosis Walks Again After Stem Cell Therapy at StemRx

Mumbai: A groundbreaking cell-based therapy led by Dr. Pradeep Mahajan, a renowned regenerative medicine researcher and founder of StemRx Hospital and Research Centre, has given a new lease on life to Sushant Chavan, a 24-year-old engineering student from Sangli, Maharashtra. Sushant, who had been left bedridden and unable to walk, speak, or move due to Multiple Sclerosis, is now walking again following innovative treatment at StemRx.

Multiple Sclerosis, an autoimmune disorder with no definitive cure in conventional medicine, had left Sushant and his family in despair. After traditional treatments failed, they turned to StemRx, a facility known for addressing complex conditions through regenerative medicine.

“When Sushant arrived, he was carried in by his father, completely immobile,” recalled Dr. Mahajan. “Today, he is walking on his own. It’s a testament to the power of regenerative medicine.”

As per the press release, StemRx’s cell-based therapy, which uses stem cells derived from the patient’s own body, has helped over 10,000 patients regain functionality in cases deemed untreatable by conventional medicine. Dr. Mahajan noted that these treatments address a wide range of conditions, including autoimmune diseases, cancer, genetic disorders, cerebral palsy, Type 1 diabetes, and more, with minimal side effects compared to traditional therapies.

Sushant’s recovery is not an isolated case. Eyam, a man from Nairobi who had been in a coma for seven years following neuro-trauma, also experienced life-changing recovery under StemRx’s care. “Our approach focuses on addressing the root causes of diseases rather than just managing symptoms, redefining what is possible in medicine,” said Dr. Mahajan.

Expressing his gratitude, Sushant said, “StemRx has given me a new lease on life. I can now focus on my studies and dreams with renewed hope and confidence.”

Dr. Mahajan and his team continue to pioneer advancements in regenerative medicine, providing hope for patients battling chronic and life-altering illnesses.
