IIT Kanpur receives Rs 2 Cr for starting health technology innovations

Ajay Dubey, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, and his wife Rooma Dubey have donated Rs 2 crore to help launch new health technology breakthroughs. Ajay Dubey and Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Director of IIT Kanpur, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The “Rooma & Ajay Dubey Healthcare Innovation & Ideation Program” (HII Program), which aims to fund and develop breakthroughs in health technology and create an ecosystem to support firms started by students in the healthtech field, was established thanks to Ajay Dubey and Rooma Dubey.

The curriculum will expose students to a range of problem statements and inspire them to generate technological ideas for the advancement of the healthcare system. Students will receive funding and networking opportunities through the Startup Incubation & Innovation Centre (SIIC), IIT Kanpur, to accelerate their development and foster an entrepreneurial culture.
