Empowering India’s Healthcare Workforce Through Skill Development

Intuitive, a global leader in minimally invasive care and robotic-assisted surgery, has partnered with the Healthcare Sector Skill Council (HSSC)—a recognized body under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE)—to strengthen India’s emergency healthcare workforce. This initiative supports the government’s efforts to train and empower healthcare professionals with critical, industry-relevant skills.

Equipping Professionals to Strengthen Healthcare Infrastructure

“Building a strong and resilient healthcare system begins with training professionals in essential skills,” said Rohitt Mahajan, Vice President and General Manager, Intuitive India. “We’re proud to join hands with HSSC to enhance the quality and capacity of India’s healthcare workforce through this important initiative.”

Combining Innovation with Skill Development

Over the years, Intuitive has established robust and innovative training programs for robotic-assisted surgery. By combining these advanced technologies with HSSC’s expertise in skilling, Intuitive aims to empower healthcare professionals with the tools they need to deliver high-quality patient care.

“Our collaboration is designed to blend technology-driven solutions with focused skill-building to reshape how healthcare professionals respond to emergencies,” added Mahajan.

Training Over 200 EMTs in Delhi and Jharkhand

As part of the initiative, more than 200 candidates in Delhi and Jharkhand are currently undergoing structured training to become Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). These frontline responders play a critical role in providing timely and efficient medical care in emergencies. The program not only enhances their clinical capabilities but also improves their employability in a growing healthcare job market.

Fostering Employability and Patient Care

“This program exemplifies our ongoing commitment to education, training, and improving patient outcomes,” said Gina Russo, Vice President, Global Public Affairs, Intuitive. “By skilling young professionals and addressing the demand for qualified personnel, we’re contributing to India’s broader healthcare delivery goals.”

Aligning with the Vision of Skill India

As per the press release, the initiative directly supports the objectives of the Skill India Mission, which seeks to bridge the gap between industry needs and workforce competencies through focused skilling, re-skilling, and up-skilling initiatives.

A Future-Focused Approach to Skilling

This initiative reflects a broader, future-ready vision: to empower youth with actionable skills, boost career opportunities, and strengthen India’s healthcare infrastructure. By investing in practical, hands-on training, Intuitive and HSSC are preparing a new generation of healthcare professionals capable of driving meaningful improvements in patient care and healthcare delivery across the nation.
