Johnson & Johnson (J&J) has introduced the TECNIS PureSee, a purely refractive intraocular lens (IOL) for individuals with presbyopia in India.
Enhanced Vision with Minimal Disturbances
The TECNIS PureSee IOL provides uninterrupted, high-quality vision with exceptional contrast and low-light performance, similar to a monofocal IOL. It also maintains a dysphotopsia profile comparable to monofocal lenses, reducing visual disturbances like halos, glare, and starbursts.
Surgical Precision and Refractive Error Tolerance
As reported by economictimes, designed with a purely refractive approach, this IOL enhances surgical ease and offers high tolerance to refractive errors, ensuring precise visual outcomes. J&J emphasizes that this design simplifies procedures while improving accuracy.
Addressing a Growing Need in Cataract Surgery
“Cataract surgery is the most common surgical procedure globally, with around 28 million procedures performed each year. However, only 10-15% of patients receive advanced optical IOLs designed to correct conditions like astigmatism and presbyopia,” said Burzin Shahana, Country Manager, Surgical Vision India & South Asia, Johnson & Johnson MedTech.
With the launch of TECNIS PureSee, J&J aims to bridge this gap and provide patients with a premium solution for presbyopia correction.
