Global Health has announced that it has entered into an Operations and Management Agreement with the Dr. Narayan Dutt Shirmali Foundation International Charitable Trust Society (the Society) to operate and manage a super specialty hospital with approximately 750 beds in Pitampura, New Delhi. The hospital is expected to begin operations in around four years, pending statutory and customary approvals.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Society will be responsible for developing the hospital building and related civil infrastructure. Medanta will invest in internal fit-outs, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, furniture, and medical equipment. Medanta anticipates a project capital expenditure of approximately Rs 600 crores over the next 3-4 years, which will be financed through a mix of internal accruals and debt. Medanta will have full operational control of the hospital’s day-to-day management. The agreement has an initial term of 30 years, with the option for extension on mutually agreed terms.
As reported by Express Healthcare, the hospital will be situated on a 7-acre plot in Pitampura, New Delhi, with a total built-up area of 7.6 lakh square feet, excluding the basement. The location is well-connected to the Outer Ring Road and is near high-density residential areas, facilitating Medanta’s ability to meet the growing healthcare demands of the region. The planned super-specialty hospital will house approximately 750 beds and will provide services across over 30 specialties, including cardiac care, neurosciences, oncology, orthopedics, digestive and hepatobiliary sciences, multispecialty robotic surgeries, regenerative medicine, and a comprehensive range of transplant services.
