Entod Pharmaceuticals is set to introduce PresVu, India’s first eye drops aimed at eliminating the need for reading glasses, by early October. These drops, formulated with pilocarpine, offer a groundbreaking solution for presbyopia, enhancing near vision within 15 minutes and providing effects that last up to six hours.

As reported by emedinexus.com, based in Mumbai, Entod Pharmaceuticals has secured regulatory approval for PresVu after more than two years of evaluation. The drops specifically target presbyopia, an age-related condition that typically affects individuals in their mid-40s to late 60s, by reducing pupil size and improving close-up vision.

Mr. Nikkhil K Masurkar, CEO of Entod Pharmaceuticals, explained that the effect of a single drop begins within 15 minutes and lasts for up to six hours, with the option to extend the effect with a second dose. This innovative treatment offers an alternative to traditional reading glasses, contact lenses, or surgery.

Priced at Rs 350 per prescription, PresVu will be available from early October. The formulation has been specifically designed for Indian eyes, backed by extensive local clinical trials and expert advice.
