Government launched the National Medical Register (NMR) portal, designed by the National Medical Commission (NMC) to facilitate the registration of eligible MBBS doctors in India.

The NMC is required by Section 31 of the NMC Act, 2019, to oversee the creation of an electronic national register. The register, maintained by the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB), will include details such as names, addresses, and qualifications of licensed medical practitioners.

The NMR will serve as a comprehensive and dynamic database for allopathic (MBBS) doctors across the country. A key feature of the NMR is its integration with the Aadhaar ID of each doctor, ensuring the authenticity of their registration. As reported by msn.com, the portal will be continuously updated and improved to enhance the registration process.
