A patient underwent a successful 15-hour cardiac surgery at a private hospital in Noida after experiencing an unusual symptom of voice hoarseness. The procedure was carried out in three stages at Kailash Hospital and Heart Institute, Sector 27, Noida.

As reported by health.economictimes.indiatimes.com, according to a statement from the hospital, Dr. Satish Mathew, chief cardiothoracic and vascular surgeon, explained that Bishan Singh Bisht sought medical attention primarily due to hoarseness in his voice. Following extensive tests, doctors discovered an orange-sized aortic aneurysm in the main aorta, which posed a life-threatening risk if it ruptured. Additionally, a coronary angiogram revealed two major arteries supplying blood to his heart were blocked, increasing the risk of a heart attack.

Given the severity of the situation, Dr. Mathew and his team planned a complex surgery in three stages to mitigate the risks. Over the course of the 15-hour operation, the team performed an off-pump coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), established a new blood supply to the brain using artificial tubes, and reinforced the aorta with a Valiant Captiva endograft to ensure blood flow to the lower body.
