Chennai hosted the 23rd Asian Oceanian Congress of Radiology (AOCR) 2025, where leading medical technology companies Royal Philips and Siemens Healthineers showcased their latest advancements in imaging solutions. The event, organized by the Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry chapter of the Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA), served as a key platform for unveiling AI-driven innovations aimed at improving diagnostic accuracy and healthcare efficiency.

Philips introduced its AI-enabled CT 5300 system and helium-free 1.5T wide-bore MRI systems, addressing challenges such as helium supply shortages and staff constraints. The new MRI system, powered by BlueSeal magnet technology, reduces helium usage to just 0.5% of conventional MRI systems, promoting sustainability and reliability in hospital operations. Meanwhile, the CT 5300 integrates AI features for motion correction and image reconstruction, enhancing diagnostic confidence while reducing radiation exposure.

Siemens Healthineers also presented its latest imaging technologies, including the MAGNETOM Flow 1.5T MRI, designed to eliminate helium dependency and accelerate scan times using AI-powered enhancements. Additionally, the SOMATOM Pro.Pulse Dual Source CT scanner was introduced to cater to patients with high heart rates or limited breath-hold capacity, improving both user and patient experiences.
