Stryker, a global leader in medical technology, has introduced the Insignia Hip Stem to the Indian market. This innovative device is designed to optimise patient fit and simplify implantation for total hip and hemiarthroplasty procedures, offering advanced solutions for both surgeons and patients.
As reported by economictimes, the Insignia Hip Stem is compatible with Stryker’s Mako SmartRobotics system, which leverages the Total Hip 4.1 software. This integration allows surgeons to utilise 3D CT-based planning to account for each patient’s unique anatomy, enabling a highly customised approach to hip replacement.
Key features of Insignia include its unique Tri-Stage Broach with three distinct tooth geometries, size-specific collar lengths, and a market-leading range of femoral offsets. These innovations are aimed at improving fit and function across a wide variety of femoral structures. Additionally, its low-profile shoulder, shorter stem lengths, and distal relief facilitate ease of insertion and lateralisation during procedures.
Aman Rishi, Vice President and General Manager of Stryker India, highlighted the significance of the launch, stating, “The Insignia Hip Stem complements our primary hip portfolio. With its compatibility with Mako SmartRobotics™ and design informed by SOMA technology, it delivers a truly personalised approach to hip replacement. By focusing on patient-specific fit, function, and flexibility, Insignia enables surgeons to achieve improved patient outcomes.”
