In a significant step toward improving cancer care accessibility, TGH Onco-Life Cancer Centre has launched a mobile van equipped with a state-of-the-art cancer screening unit, focused primarily on early breast cancer detection. This initiative, supported by the Rotary Club of Talegaon Dabhade and funded by POSCO India, aims to bring vital cancer screening services directly to women in rural and semi-urban regions of Maharashtra—completely free of cost.

Bringing Healthcare to the Doorstep

The mobile van will travel across villages in Pune district, including Ambegaon, Baramati, Bhor, Daund, Haveli, Indapur, Junnar, Khed, Mawal, Mulshi, Pune City, Purandhar, Shirur, and Velhe. It will also visit large offices and industrial hubs to ensure underprivileged workers, who often postpone preventive health check-ups, get timely screenings.

Comprehensive, Free Cancer Screenings

This mobile unit offers a range of free cancer detection services, such as:

  • Thermal screening for breast cancer using AI-powered Thermalytix
  • Pap smear/VIA tests for cervical cancer
  • Oral cancer examinations
  • Blood tests for various cancer markers

If any abnormalities are detected, patients will receive referrals for further diagnostic tests like mammograms or sonograms at Onco-Life Hospital.

Revolutionizing Breast Cancer Detection with AI Technology

As per the press release, the van uses Thermalytix, an advanced, radiation-free and non-invasive AI tool for breast cancer screening. This painless, non-contact, and privacy-friendly method is safe for women of all ages, including those under 40. Impressively, it delivers results within two minutes, which can be shared instantly via WhatsApp, email, or print, ensuring quick next steps for treatment.

Empowering Communities Through Awareness and Support

During the van’s launch, Mr. Sachin Deshmukh, Managing Director of Onco Life Hospital, emphasized the importance of this initiative:
“This van allows women to undergo a completely safe, private, and accurate screening without stepping into a hospital. We aim to touch as many lives as possible by offering free screenings and guidance on accessing government schemes like MJPJAY, PMJAY, ECHS, and MPKAY. We also extend financial assistance and discounted treatments to those in need.”
