UPL SAS Strengthens India’s Fight Against Malaria and Dengue

Aligned with India’s 2027 Vision for Malaria Elimination, UPL Sustainable Agri Solutions (UPL SAS) has reaffirmed its dedication to public health by expanding its mosquito-borne disease prevention initiatives. These efforts align closely with the Government of India’s ambitious goal of achieving zero indigenous cases of malaria by 2027 under the National Framework for Malaria Elimination (NFME) and the National Strategic Plan for Malaria Elimination.

Driving Awareness and Prevention at the Grassroots

UPL SAS is actively conducting awareness and mosquito control programs across both urban and rural India. Working alongside municipal corporations, the company has implemented targeted interventions—such as a recent project in Udvada village, Gujarat with the Clean and Green Charitable Trust, and a similar campaign in Hyderabad with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

Scaling Public Health Impact Across States

Building on the success of these localized efforts, UPL SAS is now engaging with municipal authorities and state governments in Gujarat, Telangana, Maharashtra, and Karnataka to scale these initiatives. As per the Press Release, these partnerships are expected to benefit millions, especially in underserved and high-risk communities.

Commitment to Community Well-being

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Ashish Dobhal, CEO of UPL SAS, shared,

“Our public health solutions extend beyond agriculture. We are deeply committed to community health and environmental sustainability. Through scalable and effective mosquito control solutions, we are supporting India’s public health mission and working toward a safer, healthier future for all.”

Sustainable and Science-Backed Mosquito Control

Mr. Subrata Pal, Head of Public Health Business at UPL SAS, emphasized the company’s integrated approach.

“Together with our partners, we focus on public education, habitat modification, and both larval and adult mosquito control. Our strategy begins at the source—by identifying and eliminating breeding grounds. Soon, we’ll also introduce WHO-approved, green chemistry larvicides, safe for potable water and human health, for the first time in India.”

UPL SAS will apply these larvicides in stored and flowing water bodies, such as wells, ponds, and tanks. They will also be used at the household level. This will dramatically reduce the mosquito population. As a result, the risk of malaria and dengue outbreaks will also decrease.

Innovative Technologies with Minimal Environmental Impact

UPL SAS also offers lightweight, energy-efficient cold fogging machines designed to reduce air pollution while effectively targeting mosquito breeding areas. The company uses only formulations approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP). This ensures safety for humans, animals, and aquatic ecosystems.

Toward a Healthier and More Sustainable Future

UPL SAS’ ongoing commitment reflects its broader mission. The company aims to create thriving communities by promoting public health, environmental conservation, and sustainable development. By combining innovation with grassroots partnerships, the company continues to make significant strides in India’s fight against mosquito-borne diseases.
