VS Medical Trust and Rotary Club of Madras Launch Mobile Healthcare Initiative

The VS Medical Trust, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Madras, has announced the successful launch and commencement of services for the VS Wellness on Wheels bus. The launch event, held at the residence of Thiru Ma. Subramanian, the Health and Family Welfare Minister of Tamil Nadu, marks a pivotal step in providing accessible healthcare to underserved communities. The VS Wellness on Wheels bus will conduct free cancer awareness and screening camps for the underprivileged.

Thiru Ma. Subramanian inaugurated the event, emphasizing the critical need for such initiatives. He remarked that the VS Wellness on Wheels project reflects a collective commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and quality for Tamil Nadu residents. He praised the efforts of the VS Medical Trust and the Rotary Club of Madras for their community-focused initiative, which offers essential cancer screenings and health services to those most in need.

The launch was attended by notable figures, including Prof. Dr. Subramanian, Senior Medical Oncologist and Founder Chairman of VS Group of Hospitals, Rtn. Ravi Sundaresan, President of the Rotary Club of Madras, and other dignitaries. Key donors, such as Sri Jain, Founder Chairman of Access Healthcare, Sri EMC Palaniappan, MD of Chona Financial Services Limited, and Sri Vinod Saraogi, Chairman of Go Colors, also graced the occasion.

Prof. Dr. Subramanian highlighted the growing cancer crisis, stating that early detection of breast and cervical cancers is increasingly critical. He noted that the VS Wellness on Wheels bus will provide vital screenings and health services in North Chennai and other underserved areas.

The mobile unit, equipped with advanced medical technology, will offer mammograms and other cancer screenings to suburban and rural communities across Tamil Nadu. The initiative aims to facilitate early diagnosis and enhance the overall health and well-being of the population.
