Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, has been awarded the prestigious Accreditation of Advanced Stroke Centre by the Quality and Accreditation Institute (QAI) – Centre for Accreditation of Health & Social Care. This recognition positions Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, as the first in Maharashtra to receive this esteemed accreditation, setting a new standard in stroke care with high-quality treatment, advanced technology, and expert acute care and rehabilitation.

Dr. Pavan Pai, Consultant Interventional Neurologist, emphasized the importance of immediate medical intervention for stroke patients, noting the hospital’s establishment of a well-equipped Advanced Stroke Centre and a Stroke Support Group. This group allows stroke survivors to share their experiences and motivate other patients in their rehabilitation journeys. Dr. Pai explained the hospital’s stroke protocol, which includes swift clinical assessments, neuroimaging, IV thrombolysis within an hour for ischemic strokes, and mechanical thrombectomy within 90 minutes for large vessel occlusions. For cases involving brain swelling or bleeding, life-saving decompressive craniotomy is performed.
