As part of the Left government’s Ardram Mission to modernize and enhance primary healthcare in the state, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday officially opened 50 Family Health Centres (FHC).At a time when the right was trying to privatize the country’s health sector, Vijayan claimed that Kerala’s public health system has become a source of pride for the nation.

Vijayan stated in his speech that the state’s health budget, which was Rs 665 crore in 2016, has climbed to Rs 2,828 crore, demonstrating the emphasis his government has placed on the health sector. In order to update the state’s healthcare system and make hospitals more patient-friendly, the Ardram Mission was introduced in 2016.

“Inaugurated 50 Family Health Centres (FHC) as part of Ardram Mission that aims to modernize and improve primary healthcare in Kerala. With 630 PHCs already upgraded to FHCs and 104 receiving national recognition, our public health system is becoming a source of pride for India,” Vijayan tweeted.
