Peritoneal dialysis (PD) services could be soon available to patients in need.  Thanks to a private-public cooperation model. The health department of Uttar Pradesh has created a plan to begin PD for patients under its current facilities where patients receive free hemo-dialysis through PPP mode.

“We have prepared the proposal. The facility will benefit patients, particularly those in rural areas, who frequently ignore their illness or are unable to receive PD treatment,” said Dr. VK Singh, Joint Director of medical care for Uttar Pradesh.

The national health mission has now been compelled by the health department to endorse the use of consumables for PD. “Dialysis is already operational and set up across the state,” a senior health official stated, “We simply need PD equipment and consumables that can be started as soon as we acquire them.”
