AI-Equipped Dr Marri Chenna Reddy TIMS Inaugurated in Hyderabad

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Dr Marri Chenna Reddy Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) in Sanathnagar, Hyderabad. The 1,082-bed super-speciality hospital aims to expand access to advanced healthcare services through modern infrastructure and technology.

Spread across 22.6 acres, the hospital includes 300 ICU beds, 31 major and six minor operation theatres, advanced diagnostic laboratories and specialised facilities for organ transplantation, cardiac sciences, oncology, neurosciences, nephrology and trauma care.

Advanced Diagnostics and AI Technology

The facility houses advanced imaging systems, including a 3.0 Tesla MRI, 128-slice CT scanner and mammography unit. It also provides kidney, liver and heart transplant services, along with advanced cardiac surgery, radiotherapy and emergency care.

As per News On AIR, one of the hospital’s key features is its AI-aided Pneumatic Tube System, designed to transport blood samples, medicines and reports rapidly between departments. The system is expected to reduce turnaround times and improve operational efficiency.

Strengthening Public Healthcare

The hospital also incorporates sustainability measures such as rainwater harvesting, sewage and effluent treatment systems and energy-efficient infrastructure. With its combination of super-speciality services, critical-care capacity and technology-enabled systems, TIMS is expected to strengthen Telangana’s public healthcare infrastructure.
