Apollo Expands Integrated Healthcare at Greams Road
Apollo AyurVAID Hospitals, the precision Ayurveda arm of Apollo Hospitals Group, inaugurated its flagship 35-bed hospital on Greams Road, Chennai, on Monday. The new centre, launched by Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, Founder-Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group, marks a significant expansion of Apollo’s integrated healthcare ecosystem within its iconic campus.

The facility strengthens the role of precision Ayurveda — an evidence-based and clinically governed approach designed to complement modern medicine and deliver holistic, personalised care.

Comprehensive Ayurveda-Based Clinical Services
As reported by The Hindu, the new hospital will provide both in-patient and out-patient services covering a wide spectrum of conditions. These include orthopaedic, neurological, and neurodegenerative disorders; metabolic and respiratory illnesses; women’s health issues; paediatric developmental disorders; chronic wounds; ano-rectal conditions; sports injuries; and dermatological concerns.

Patient Shares Transformative Experience
At the inauguration, Karen Sternfeld — a Team USA para-archer and multiple sclerosis patient — shared her inspiring journey of receiving therapy at Apollo AyurVAID. A wheelchair user, she spoke about how the hospital’s coordinated, multi-specialty approach helped her manage symptoms and improve mobility. She expressed optimism about returning to compete in the Paralympics 2028.

Focus on Rehabilitative and Integrative Care
Dr. Susmitha Chandran, Primary Physician and Medical Superintendent at Apollo AyurVAID Hospitals, highlighted the importance of long-term rehabilitative care. She underscored the need for multidisciplinary collaboration in supporting patients with chronic and degenerative conditions, ensuring continuity of care beyond symptomatic relief.

Integrating Ayurveda and Modern Medicine
Rajiv Vasudevan, Managing Director and CEO of Apollo AyurVAID Hospitals, emphasized the hospital’s commitment to integrative healthcare — a model that fuses the precision of Ayurveda with the scientific rigour of modern medicine. “Our approach focuses on whole health by addressing root causes of disease while supporting prevention, recovery, and sustained wellbeing,” he said.

Safe and Transparent Product Line
The facility will also house the ‘Tested Safe’ AyurVAID range, which includes classical Ayurveda medicines, medical foods, and over-the-counter formulations. Each product undergoes rigorous safety testing, and reports are easily accessible via QR codes, ensuring complete transparency for patients.
