Granules India Limited, in partnership with the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), S.A.S. Nagar, inaugurated the Dr. Chigurupati Centre of Excellence in Innovative and Sustainable Pharmaceutical Development (CCE-ISPD). This milestone initiative, established under Granules’ CSR program, seeks to empower students and researchers with advanced facilities that encourage innovation in eco-friendly pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The Centre will operate under the supervision of Dr. Arvind K. Bansal, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, NIPER, who serves as the lead academic supervisor. By combining NIPER’s research expertise with Granules India’s industrial capabilities, the Centre will work on developing scalable, eco-friendly solutions for the pharmaceutical sector.
Key focus areas include:
- Advancing the interface between API and formulation manufacturing
- Reducing carbon footprint in formulation production
- Creating intellectual property in sustainable technologies
