Guntur Spine Surgeon Earns Top National Honors at IOA Meet

Dr. J. Naresh Babu, Chief of Spine Services at the Mallika Spine Centre in Guntur, secured three major national honours at the 70th Annual Conference of the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA) held in Guwahati. His achievements brought widespread attention to both his work and the state of Andhra Pradesh. 

Prestigious Awards at IOA Conference

First, Dr. Naresh Babu received the HKT Raza Gold Medal 2024 for Best Spine Research. This award recognised his pioneering research into identifying ideal candidates for Endoscopic Spine Surgery — a minimally invasive procedure that is rapidly changing the field of spine care. 

Soon after, in recognition of his innovative thinking and application of scientific principles in orthopaedics, he was honoured with the SP Mandal Gold Medal 2025. 

Finally, the Indian Orthopaedic Association selected him for the Golden Jubilee Oration Award 2025. This accolade is the highest academic honour the organisation bestows, and it is reserved for outstanding original research that has not been published.
