Kerala Gears Up to Host First International Ayurveda and Wellness Conclave

Strengthening its global leadership in Ayurveda and holistic wellness, Kerala will host the first International Ayurveda and Wellness Conclave in Kozhikode from February 2–3. The landmark event aims to position the state as the world’s most trusted destination for Ayurveda and wellness tourism.

Inauguration by Tourism Minister

Tourism Minister Shri P. A. Mohamed Riyas will inaugurate the conclave on February 2 at the Calicut Trade Center, Eranhipaalam, Kozhikode, marking a significant milestone in Kerala’s wellness tourism journey.

Collaborative Platform for Global Stakeholders

As per the press release, the Ayurveda Promotion Society (APS), in association with the Department of Tourism and allied tourism and health organisations, is organising the conclave. Consequently, the event will bring together Ayurveda scholars, global wellness experts, policymakers, academics, industry leaders, travel trade professionals, and international stakeholders under one roof.

Driving Knowledge Exchange and Global Collaboration

Importantly, the conclave will serve as a strategic platform for knowledge exchange, policy dialogue, B2B networking, and global partnerships. Through these interactions, Kerala aims to accelerate its emergence as a preferred global hub for Ayurveda, holistic wellness, and sustainable medical value travel.

Extensive B2B Networking Opportunities

To strengthen trade engagement, the event will facilitate extensive B2B networking involving:

  • 100 Ayurveda and wellness service providers from Kerala
  • 120 international agents and tour operators
  • 30 Indian agents and operators
  • 30 yoga operators
  • 30 international and 20 Indian bloggers and media representatives

As a result, participants will gain direct access to global markets and collaboration opportunities.

Focus on Medical Value Travel and Wellness Tourism

In addition, the conclave will focus on enhancing Kerala’s position in medical value travel, Ayurveda healthcare, wellness retreats, and yoga tourism, reinforcing the state’s integrated wellness ecosystem.

Insightful Sessions on Day One

Day 1 of the conclave (February 2) will feature expert-led sessions on:

  • Global market trends in Ayurveda
  • Integrating Ayurveda and Yoga into wellness tourism
  • Research in Ayurveda and its international acceptance
  • Medical value travel and the role of Ayurveda

These sessions will highlight both scientific advancements and market opportunities.

Structured B2B Engagement on Day Two

Subsequently, Day 2 (February 3) will host a full-day, structured B2B interaction, connecting 150 international and domestic buyers with 100 Ayurveda service providers from Kerala, thereby translating discussions into tangible partnerships.

Post-Conclave Familiarisation Tour

Following the conclave, a curated familiarisation tour for international Ayurveda and Yoga ambassadors will begin on February 4. The tour will start in Kozhikode and conclude in Thiruvananthapuram on February 12.

During the journey, delegates will visit Ayurveda resorts, wellness retreats, yoga destinations, Ayurveda hospitals, and manufacturing facilities across Kerala, gaining first-hand exposure to the state’s capabilities.

Showcasing Kerala’s Cultural and Heritage Wealth

Moreover, the programme will include curated cultural and heritage experiences such as Kerala Kalamandalam, the Kochi Muziris Biennale, Kochi Port Cruise, and other key attractions. These experiences will offer delegates a holistic understanding of Kerala’s wellness, cultural, and tourism ecosystem.

Through focused policy dialogues, global networking, scientific discussions, and large-scale trade interactions, the International Ayurveda and Wellness Conclave and the subsequent tour are expected to significantly strengthen Kerala’s leadership in Ayurveda, medical value travel, and sustainable wellness tourism on the global stage.
