Manipal Hospitals to Build ₹700-Crore Multi-Speciality Facility in Nagpur

Manipal Hospitals has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra to establish a 350-bed multi-speciality hospital in Nagpur. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving access in the region.

₹700-Crore Investment and Job Creation

The proposed hospital will involve an investment of nearly ₹700 crore and is expected to generate about 3,000 new jobs. The MoU, signed in Mumbai, includes the government’s assurance to facilitate all necessary permits, approvals, and fiscal incentives to ensure timely completion. The facility will begin operations by 2029.

Leadership’s Perspective on the Expansion

Dilip Jose, Managing Director and CEO of Manipal Hospitals, expressed gratitude to the state government for its support. “I would like to thank the Government of Maharashtra for entrusting us with this opportunity to serve the people of the state. This strategic expansion aligns with our vision to make advanced medical care accessible to all,” he said. He added that the new Nagpur hospital will bring high-quality, multidisciplinary healthcare closer to underserved communities. This will reinforce the hospital network’s commitment to equitable and impactful care across Maharashtra.

Comprehensive Specialised Services

As reported by Express Healthcare, the upcoming hospital will house an extensive range of specialised departments. These will include cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, and oncology services.
