Dar es Salaam office to assist patients accessing advanced healthcare in India
Max Healthcare has expanded its presence in Africa with the launch of a Patient Assistance Centre (PAC) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This marks the healthcare group’s fourth office in Africa, following centres in Nairobi, Addis Ababa and Lagos.
Supporting Patients Across East Africa
The new centre will serve as a local point of contact for patients and families in Tanzania and the wider East African region seeking advanced tertiary and quaternary healthcare in India. It will connect patients with Max Healthcare’s hospitals, specialists and medical capabilities while providing guidance throughout their treatment journey.
As per the press release, the centre will provide treatment-related information, video consultations with clinicians in India, hospital coordination, treatment cost estimates, visa and travel assistance, interpreter services and other patient-support services.
Access to Specialised Medical Care
Through its hospitals in India, Max Healthcare offers specialised services in oncology, cardiac sciences, neurosciences, orthopaedics, organ transplantation, renal sciences, robotic surgery and other complex medical fields.
Commenting on the launch, Mr Anas Abdul Wajid, Group Director and Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, Max Healthcare, said the Tanzania office would help bring the group’s clinical expertise closer to patients in Africa while creating opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange between healthcare professionals in India and Tanzania.

The company said the new centre comes amid growing demand across Africa for specialised clinical expertise, advanced technology and treatment options. Moreover, Max Healthcare sees international healthcare partnerships as a way to complement local healthcare systems and expand access to specialised care.
With the addition of Tanzania, Max Healthcare now operates 11 international offices/PACs across Asia and Africa. The group said it receives more than 45,000 patients from over 180 nationalities annually.
