Motherhood Hospitals Announces Major Expansion Plan

GIC and TPG-backed Motherhood Hospitals has unveiled an ambitious plan to scale its presence by adding eight new hospitals across the 14 cities where it currently operates. The expansion will come through a mix of greenfield projects and strategic acquisitions, strengthening the network’s national footprint.

Strong Financial Performance

As reported by newsonprojects, the company reported ₹810 crore in revenue for FY24–25, supported by an EBITDA margin of 18%. CEO Vijayarathna Venkataraman said Motherhood Hospitals continues to improve its financial performance by focusing on operational efficiency and speciality-driven growth.

Focus on Scale and Specialised Services

Currently operating 25 hospitals and three clinics, Motherhood is intensifying efforts to enhance scale efficiencies and standardise clinical processes. Additionally, it is investing in specialised programmes, particularly in IVF and advanced paediatrics, to further improve profitability. These programmes, the leadership believes, will help strengthen the network’s position in high-demand segments.

Expanding Footprint Across India

Motherhood Hospitals already has a strong presence in multiple regions. In the South, it operates across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala; in the West, it is present in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The network has established centres in Chandigarh and Delhi-NCR—including Gurgaon and Noida—in the North. Moreover, it recently ventured into the Eastern market with its debut in Kolkata.
