Centre Introduces Advanced Rehabilitation Technologies
Aster Medcity has launched the Aster PMR – Advanced Neurorehab Centre, a dedicated facility that combines conventional Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) with advanced neuro-rehabilitation technologies.
Roji M. John, Minister for Higher Education, inaugurated the centre. He said healthcare should go beyond treating disease and should also help patients regain mobility, independence and confidence. He also assured support for initiatives focused on advanced rehabilitation.
New Technologies to Support Recovery
The centre offers robotic gait training and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. In addition, it has introduced the Cardiac Ergometer and rTMS R30 in Kerala for the first time, expanding rehabilitation options for patients recovering from neurological and other health conditions.
Dr. K.M. Mathew, Lead and Senior Consultant, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, said rehabilitation should not be viewed as the final stage of treatment. Instead, he described it as the beginning of a patient’s return to an independent life.
As per the press release issued by Aster Medcity, the new centre aims to integrate technology-driven rehabilitation with established PMR practices to help patients improve mobility and regain greater independence.
