The Rajasthan government will set up comprehensive well-being centres in every medical college across the state. In addition, the government will establish a state-level mental health welfare cell to strengthen psychological support systems for medical students, according to an official statement.
Task Force Reviews Student Mental Health Initiatives
As reported by The Print, medical Education Commissioner Naresh Goyal issued these directions during the first meeting of the state-level task force formed to focus on the mental health and overall well-being of medical students. The task force aims to create a structured and responsive framework to address mental health challenges within medical institutions.
Dedicated Deans to Monitor Student Mental Health
Moreover, each medical college will appoint a designated dean to specifically monitor and address students’ mental health concerns. This role will ensure timely intervention and consistent oversight of student well-being.
Strengthening Academic and Administrative Support Systems
At the same time, the government will strengthen administrative and academic systems to provide improved psychological support. These measures are expected to create a more supportive and stress-responsive environment for medical students across the state.
