Amor Hospitals has entered into a strategic clinical collaboration with Shoealls Co., Ltd., a South Korean smart footwear technology company, to explore the role of functional footwear in improving gait, posture, mobility and orthopaedic wellbeing.
The organisations formalised the partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), combining Korean health-technology innovation with Indian clinical expertise.
Combining Technology and Clinical Expertise
Dr. Kishore B. Reddy, Managing Director, Amor Hospitals, said appropriately selected functional footwear could potentially benefit 25–30% of orthopaedic patients, particularly those with gait and posture-related concerns.
“Through our collaboration with Shoealls, we want to understand this technology clinically and explore how it can benefit the right patients,” he said.
As per the press release issued by Amor Hospitals, the collaboration will focus on professional measurement and fitting, clinical education, research exchange and potential future studies on foot health, gait and mobility.
Advancing Smart Footwear Technology
Shoealls has developed proprietary MEDICHIO vibration chip technology for its functional footwear. According to the company, the technology is certified as a Class 2 medical device in Korea and is also listed with the US FDA and CE-registered in Europe.

The partnership also reflects a broader shift towards supporting mobility, independence and quality of life. Any future studies will follow separate protocols and applicable ethical, legal and patient-consent requirements, while Amor clinicians will continue to make independent clinical recommendations.
