Thyrocare Introduces India’s First Pregnancy Kit with Lab-Test Confirmation

Thyrocare Technologies has entered the pregnancy testing market with the launch of its new Thyrocare Pregnancy Kit, which combines an at-home pregnancy test with access to a quantitative laboratory confirmation test. The company has also appointed actor Yami Gautam as the brand ambassador for the product. The launch marks an expansion of Thyrocare’s consumer-focused diagnostics business, bringing home pregnancy testing and laboratory confirmation together in a single package.

Home Pregnancy Test with Laboratory Confirmation

The Thyrocare Pregnancy Kit includes a rapid at-home pregnancy test and a voucher offering a Beta hCG blood test at 50% of its regular price. While the home test provides an initial result through a test strip, the Beta hCG laboratory test measures the pregnancy hormone quantitatively, providing a more precise reading. Users can scan the QR code included in the package and book the confirmatory blood test through Thyrocare’s website. The company also offers home sample collection, generally within a few hours of booking.

Thyrocare Leverages Its Diagnostic Network

The launch builds on Thyrocare’s extensive diagnostic infrastructure, which includes 46 laboratories and 11,310 collection points across 607 districts in India. The company processes more than one lakh samples daily through its NABL-accredited laboratory network. This infrastructure supports the integration of at-home testing with laboratory-based confirmation. The move also targets a substantial consumer market, with more than 150 million pregnancy tests reportedly sold in India every year. Most of these tests are conducted at home without subsequent laboratory confirmation.

Pregnancy Kit Price and Availability

The Thyrocare Pregnancy Kit is available through leading pharmacies, e-commerce platforms and quick-commerce services at a maximum retail price (MRP) of Rs 60. Each pack includes:
A rapid pregnancy test with a sensitivity of 25 mIU/mL.

A dropper for conducting the test.

A voucher for a quantitative Beta hCG blood test.

The bundled Beta hCG test costs Rs 399, compared with its regular price of Rs 800. Home sample collection is included, and the voucher remains valid for six months from the date of purchase. As reported by BioSpectrum India, the launch expands Thyrocare’s consumer-facing diagnostics portfolio by combining convenient home pregnancy testing with affordable laboratory confirmation.
