WHO and Ministry of Ayush Sign Agreement for Global Summit on Traditional Medicine

The Ministry of Ayush has signed an agreement with the World Health Organization (WHO) to co-host the 2nd WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine. The summit will focus on the theme “Restoring balance for people and planet: The science and practice of well-being”.

Summit Dates and Venue

The Global Summit will take place in New Delhi from 17th to 19th December 2025.

Signing Ceremony in Delhi

Union Minister of State for Ayush (IC) Shri Prataprao Jadhav and the Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, witnessed the signing of the agreement. The event took place during the 2nd Summit Planning Group Meeting, which was convened to review activities and track progress for the upcoming Summit.

A Global Platform for Collaboration

As reported by pib.gov.in, the Summit will create an international platform that brings together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders. By doing so, it will advance the role of traditional medicine in global health and sustainable development.

Commitment to Evidence-Based Practices

Reaffirming their partnership, the Ministry of Ayush and WHO pledged to promote evidence-based traditional medicine practices. Together, they aim to strengthen approaches that support human health and planetary well-being.
