Yashoda Medicity, a leading healthcare institution known for its excellence in patient care, has joined hands with Intuitive, a global pioneer in minimally invasive care and robotic-assisted surgery (RAS), to establish a state-of-the-art RAS training centre at its Indirapuram campus in Ghaziabad.
Inauguration by Union and State Ministers
As per the press release, the new centre was formally inaugurated by Shri Harsh Malhotra, Union Minister of State for Corporate Affairs, Road Transport, and Highways. Shri Sunil Sharma, Minister for IT and Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh, also graced the event with his presence.
A Major Leap in Surgical Training
The centre is set to train surgeons and healthcare teams in robotic-assisted surgical techniques across a range of specialties, including urology, gynaecology, general surgery, and more. Through this initiative, Yashoda Medicity aims to promote wider adoption of robotic-assisted surgery across India by offering cutting-edge technology training and nurturing a skilled, future-ready surgical workforce.
India’s First Dual-Bay Robotic Training Facility
Designed with a dual-bay configuration, the centre can host parallel training sessions and foster collaborative learning. This setup allows for a greater number of professionals to be trained efficiently while maintaining high standards. The immersive training environment focuses on standardized learning, consistent skill development, and hands-on practice using advanced da Vinci surgical systems.
Leadership Speaks: A Vision for Transformative Healthcare
Commenting on this milestone, Dr. P.N. Arora, Chairman and Managing Director of Yashoda Group of Hospitals, said,
“This is a proud and transformative moment for Yashoda Medicity. Being one of the first hospitals in India to offer a dual-bay robotic-assisted surgery training centre demonstrates our commitment to bringing global best practices into Indian healthcare. This centre will not only raise the standard of surgical training but also contribute meaningfully to patient outcomes.”
Dr. Upasana Arora, Managing Director of Yashoda Group of Hospitals, added,
“This training centre aligns with our goal to support the Government’s ‘Heal in India’ initiative by expanding access to advanced surgical care. It positions India as a global hub for high-quality, minimally invasive procedures. By empowering clinicians with the latest surgical tools and knowledge, we aim to elevate patient care both nationally and internationally.”
Global Collaboration for Local Impact
From Intuitive’s global leadership, Dr. Myriam Curet, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, remarked,
