Free MRI for Eligible Patients
Aarthi Scans and Labs has announced an initiative to provide MRI scans free of cost to eligible patients who cannot afford the investigation, with preference given to individuals below the poverty line.
The initiative is available at select centres in Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai, subject to eligibility and documentation requirements.
How Doctors Can Refer Patients
Doctors at government medical college hospitals can refer eligible patients using:
- A doctor’s referral note along with the government referral slip.
- A letter from an NGO confirming that the patient requires an MRI scan.
- A referral from an Aarthi Scans and Labs employee, where the employee can establish that the patient genuinely cannot afford the scan.
As per the company’s announcement, the initiative is intended specifically for patients who require an MRI but cannot afford even the organisation’s existing affordable pricing.
Centres Currently Covered
The free MRI facility is available at select centres in:
- Kilpauk, Chennai
- Shivaji Nagar, Bengaluru
- Kondapur, Hyderabad
- Sion, Mumbai
Patients must meet the defined eligibility criteria and submit the required documentation.

For doctors, the initiative provides a potential referral pathway for economically disadvantaged patients who need MRI-based diagnosis but may otherwise delay or forgo imaging because of cost.
