Ankura Hospitals, India’s leading network for women’s and children’s healthcare, in collaboration with the AAYU Foundation, successfully organised the Pune edition of Preemethon 2025—a multi-city walkathon dedicated to raising awareness about premature births under the national campaign “Born Too Soon, But in the Safest Hands.”
Community Joins the Cause
As per the press release, the walkathon took place at PWD Ground, Pune, with Mr. Atul Shitole, Former Corporator (PCMC), attending as the chief guest and extending his support. The initiative brought together families, doctors, and community members, spotlighting the medical, emotional, and social challenges faced by premature babies while celebrating their strength and resilience.
A Movement of Hope and Awareness
“Every premature baby is a story of hope, courage, and medical excellence. Through Preemethon, we wanted to unite parents, doctors, and communities to spread awareness that timely neonatal care can make a life-changing difference. Preemethon has been more than a walk—it has been a movement of gratitude and awareness,” said Dr. Siddharth Madabhushi, Medical Director, Ankura Hospital for Women & Children.
He added that every step taken during the walkathon served as a reminder that with the right care, even the tiniest lives can create the biggest impact.
Strengthening Awareness on World Prematurity Day
Aligned with World Prematurity Day (November 17), the event emphasized the importance of early antenatal care, proper maternal nutrition, and emotional support for families of preterm babies. It highlighted the growing need for public awareness and community engagement in improving neonatal outcomes.
