BPL Eyeing ₹2,000 Crore Revenue by 2032, Expands Critical Care and Imaging Portfolio

BPL Medical Technologies is targeting a fourfold increase in revenue to around ₹2,000 crore by 2032, as the medical-device company strengthens its presence in critical care and imaging. The company expects these two segments to drive its next phase of growth as it expands beyond its traditional cardiology-focused business and builds a broader medical technology portfolio.

Critical Care Emerges as a Core Growth Driver

Guruswamy Krishnamoorthy, CEO, BPL Medical Technologies Pvt. Ltd., said critical care already contributes more than 50% of the company’s revenue. Over the past decade, BPL has expanded its critical-care portfolio across several key medical-device categories, including anaesthesia systems, patient monitoring equipment, ventilators and infusion pumps. As a result, critical care has evolved into one of the company’s core businesses and is expected to remain an important contributor to future growth.

Imaging Business Set for Further Expansion

Medical imaging represents another significant growth opportunity for BPL Medical Technologies. Although the segment is still evolving within the company’s portfolio, BPL expects imaging to play a substantially larger role in its next phase of expansion. The company plans to strengthen its capabilities and broaden its product offerings as demand for advanced diagnostic technologies increases. This strategy will help BPL diversify its revenue base while reducing its dependence on its traditional cardiology business.

Acquisitions Strengthen Technology Capabilities

In addition to organic expansion, BPL is using strategic acquisitions to strengthen its technology portfolio and establish a stronger international presence. Recently, the company acquired 100% of South Korea-based BM Tech, a manufacturer of bone densitometers. The acquisition expands BPL’s capabilities in diagnostic imaging and related medical technologies. BPL has also acquired a controlling stake in Belgium-based Medec, which develops high-end anaesthesia and ventilation products. The deal strengthens BPL’s position in critical care while adding advanced technology capabilities to its portfolio.

Building an Export-Oriented Medical Technology Business

Through these acquisitions and its ongoing expansion across critical care and imaging, BPL aims to create a broader and more technology-driven medical-device business. The company is also looking to leverage its expanded product portfolio to develop a stronger export platform, enabling it to access international markets and create additional revenue streams. As reported by thehindubusinessline.com, with critical care already accounting for a significant share of revenue, imaging emerging as a new growth engine and acquisitions strengthening its technology capabilities, BPL Medical Technologies is positioning itself for sustained expansion towards its ₹2,000-crore revenue target by 2032.
