ctDNA May Transform Early Cancer Detection

Press Release

The Aster Quality Care Cancer Conclave (AQCCON) 2026 began in Kochi with discussions on the growing role of circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) testing in cancer care. Experts highlighted its potential to detect cancer-related genetic changes through a blood test, supporting earlier diagnosis and treatment planning.

As per the press release, the increasing availability of ctDNA testing in Indian laboratories is also helping reduce costs, although further validation is needed to optimise sensitivity and specificity.

Focus on Genomic and Personalised Care

The conclave also features sessions on hereditary cancers and genomic oncology, aiming to improve awareness about genetic risk and address misconceptions surrounding familial cancer.

Dr Arun R. Warrier, Organizing Secretary of AQCCON and Senior Consultant, Medical Oncology, Aster Medcity, said the conclave aims to bring cancer specialists together to share advances and innovations that can improve patient outcomes.

Three-Day Scientific Programme

Organised by the Aster International Institute of Oncology, Kochi, the three-day conclave will feature more than 60 academic sessions, including expert panel discussions, case-based debates and clinical research presentations.
