Hyderabad, December 18, 2025: Doctors at Amor Hospitals successfully treated and discharged Baburao, a 28-year-old factory worker, after he survived a life-threatening industrial accident involving chemical exposure, severe burns, and acute respiratory distress.
The Industrial Accident and Emergency Admission
On December 2, Baburao fell into a chemical tank at his workplace while attempting to clean it. As a result, he suffered chemical exposure and aspirated food particles. Co-workers immediately rushed him to the emergency department in an unconscious state, with a history of vomiting and breathing difficulty.
Immediate Life-Saving Intervention
Upon arrival, the emergency team acted swiftly. Doctors immediately intubated Baburao and placed him on mechanical ventilation due to acute respiratory failure. Simultaneously, the team initiated emergency decontamination procedures to reduce further chemical damage.
During evaluation, doctors diagnosed him with 22–25% second-degree chemical burns. Consequently, surgeons performed surgical debridement and initiated regular wound dressings to promote healing.
Critical Care Management and Complications
Meanwhile, due to the aspiration of food particles and inhalation of toxic chemical fumes, Baburao developed Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). This condition required prolonged ventilator support and continuous monitoring in the intensive care unit.
As per the hospital’s press release, the patient also needed advanced infection control and sustained critical care support to manage complications arising from the chemical injury and respiratory distress.
Gradual Recovery Through Multidisciplinary Care
Through coordinated and meticulous multidisciplinary care, Baburao gradually responded to treatment. Over time, doctors successfully weaned him off ventilator support, and he recovered from associated infections. Following a challenging hospital stay and close medical supervision, he showed steady improvement.
Finally, doctors discharged him in stable condition on December 13. He is currently doing well and continues to recover.
