Dr. GSK Velu, Chairman of the FICCI Tamil Nadu State Council and Chairman & Managing Director of Trivitron Healthcare, Neuberg Diagnostics, and Maxivision Eye Hospitals, has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 5th Dr. K.C.G. Verghese Excellence Awards 2026. The award recognises his outstanding contributions to India’s healthcare, diagnostics, medical technology, and eye care sectors.

The award was presented by Hon’ble Mr. Justice A.D. Jagadish Chandira, Judge of the Madras High Court, during a ceremony hosted by the Hindustan Group of Institutions in Chennai. Instituted in memory of the late Dr. K.C.G. Verghese, the Excellence Awards honour individuals whose leadership and contributions have created a lasting impact on industry and society.

With more than 37 years of experience, Dr. Velu has played a pivotal role in strengthening India’s healthcare manufacturing, diagnostics, medical technology, and ophthalmology sectors. Under his leadership, Trivitron Healthcare, Neuberg Diagnostics, and Maxivision Eye Hospitals have championed affordable, high-quality healthcare, indigenous innovation, industry-academia collaboration, and globally competitive healthcare solutions.
According to the press release, Dr. Velu is currently serving his sixth consecutive term as Chairman of the FICCI Tamil Nadu State Council. In this capacity, he has actively promoted collaboration across healthcare manufacturing, diagnostics, medtech, innovation, and public policy. He also serves as a mentor, director, and investor at Kauvery Hospitals, General Partner and Lending Partner at Stakeboat Capital, and Founder & Director of Apollo White Dental and the Apollo Dialysis network.
