
The Dr. K.V. Thiruvengadam Health Care Excellence Award – 2026 was presented to S. G. Ramanan, Senior Medical Oncologist at Apollo Cancer Hospital and Managing Trustee of Cancare Foundation, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to cancer care.

During the event, organisers honoured Dr. Ramanan for his patient-centric approach, his commitment to advancing oncology services, and his consistent efforts to integrate evidence-based medicine with compassion and empathy.

K.Narayanasamy, Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, presented the award as the Chief Guest. Meanwhile, Vinod Saraogi, District Governor of Rotary International District 3234, attended the function as the Guest of Honour.
20th Edition in Centenary Year
Notably, this year marks the 20th edition of the award and coincides with the centenary year of Dr. K.V. Thiruvengadam’s birth. Koushik MuthuRaja M., Chairperson of the Dr. KVT Awards Committee, highlighted the significance of the milestone and the award’s continued commitment to recognising excellence in healthcare.
