East Point Nursing Institutions, comprising East Point College of Nursing, New Royal College of Nursing, and East Point School of Nursing, welcomed its new batch of B.Sc. Nursing and GNM students at an Orientation Programme for the academic year 2026–27.
Emphasis on Compassion and Professionalism
Sr. Pushpa Jannapa, Nursing Superintendent, St. Martha’s Hospital, Bengaluru, attended the programme as Chief Guest. Smt. B. L. Ramadevi Venkatpathi, Chairperson, East Point Group of Institutions; Dr. T. Rajeshwari, Medical Advisor, East Point College of Medical Sciences & Research Centre; and Dr. G. Indumathi, Dean of Academics, also attended the event.
The programme introduced students to the institution’s academic standards and professional expectations. Dr. G. Indumathi highlighted the scope of nursing and encouraged students to develop discipline, ethical values, and professional excellence.
Sr. Pushpa Jannapa urged students to follow the values of empathy, wisdom, discipline, and selfless service inspired by Florence Nightingale. She also encouraged them to combine clinical competence with compassion while caring for patients.
Focus on Practical Learning
As per the press release, Sri S. V. Pramod Gowda, Trustee & CEO, East Point Group of Institutions, said that nursing education must combine scientific knowledge, clinical expertise, and humanity. He highlighted the institution’s multidisciplinary environment, which includes medical, physiotherapy, allied health sciences, pharmacy, nursing, and GNM programmes.
Similarly, Sri S. V. Rajiv Gowda, Trustee & CEO, emphasized experience-based learning supported by the campus’s 1,200-bed Multi-Specialty Hospital. He noted that this environment helps students strengthen their practical skills, critical thinking, and professional confidence.
