On the occasion of World Stroke Day, Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai, in collaboration with Phoenix Palladium, Lower Parel, organized a powerful public awareness campaign to emphasize the life-saving importance of timely action in stroke management.

Flash Mob Brings Stroke Awareness to Life

A major highlight of the event was a live flash mob skit that drew the attention of hundreds of mall visitors. Performed at 12:00 PM, 3:00 PM, and 4:00 PM, the energetic act creatively demonstrated how suddenly a stroke can occur and how every minute counts in saving a life.

Through movement, dramatization, and synchronized music, performers educated the audience on recognizing the FAST signs of stroke. These include Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, and Time to rush for help.

Symbolic Clock Highlights the Golden Hour

Complementing the performance, organizers installed a 6-foot digital clock at the mall’s atrium. It symbolized the Golden Hour — the crucial 60-minute window when immediate medical attention can prevent permanent damage. The digital countdown clock served as a compelling visual reminder that time is the most critical factor in stroke management.

Stroke Survivors’ Art Inspires Hope

Adding a deeply emotional layer, the venue also showcased an exclusive art gallery featuring paintings by stroke survivors. Each artwork expressed the artist’s personal journey — from pain and paralysis to recovery and hope. Together, they offered visitors an inspiring glimpse into life after stroke.

Experts Drive Community Awareness

As per the press release, this holistic awareness initiative was conceptualized by Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai’s team of leading neurologists and neurosurgeons. The core team included Dr. Nitin Dange, Dr. Shirish Hastak, Dr. Pankaj Agarwal, Dr. Kushal Bhatia, and Dr. Mayur Gharat. Together, they aim to foster stronger community understanding of the importance of recognizing and responding to stroke on time.

Leaders Emphasize Timely Action

Dr. Bipin Chevale, CEO, Gleneagles Hospital Mumbai, said,

“Stroke can happen anytime, anywhere — but acting within the golden hour can save both life and ability. Through this campaign, we wanted to reach people beyond hospital walls and help them realize that every minute matters when it comes to brain health.”
