Jharkhand will soon provide comprehensive treatment for 21 critical diseases at selected government and private hospitals across the state, a senior official announced on Wednesday.

Key Government Hospitals Identified for Services

The state will initially offer these services at four major government hospitals: Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and Sadar Hospital in Ranchi, Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital in Dhanbad, and MGM Medical College in Jamshedpur. In addition, the government will extend facilities for treating serious illnesses to four private hospitals in the state.

Decision Taken After High-Level Review

The decision emerged from a high-level meeting chaired by Additional Chief Secretary of the Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare Department, Ajoy Kumar Singh, on Tuesday evening. According to an official release, the state aims to strengthen in-state access to advanced healthcare and reduce dependence on out-of-state treatment.

Fixed Treatment Packages to Ensure Hassle-Free Care

Singh stated that the government will provide all necessary facilities to hospitals willing to treat critical illnesses. Moreover, the authorities have already finalised treatment packages for various diseases. As a result, patients will no longer need to travel outside Jharkhand for specialised medical care.
