Kerala to Host First International Ayurveda and Wellness Conclave

Positioning Kerala as a Global Wellness Leader

Showcasing Kerala’s leadership in wellness tourism, the State will host the first International Ayurveda and Wellness Conclave from February 2 to 3 in Kozhikode. The conclave aims to reinforce Kerala’s position as a global hub for Ayurveda and holistic wellness.

Inauguration and Venue Details

Tourism Minister Shri P. A. Mohamed Riyas will inaugurate the conclave on February 2 at 11 a.m. at Hotel Tripenta, opposite Sarovaram Bio Park, Mini Bypass Road, Kozhikode.

Organisers and Participants

The Ayurveda Promotion Society (APS), in association with the Department of Tourism and allied tourism and health organisations, is organising the conclave. The event will bring together Ayurveda scholars, global wellness experts, policymakers, academicians, industry leaders, travel trade professionals, and international stakeholders.

Platform for Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

Beyond fostering business collaborations, the conclave will feature insightful presentations by leading experts and industry stakeholders. Through these discussions, the event will strengthen Kerala’s efforts to emerge as a leader in Ayurveda and wellness tourism, rooted in responsible and sustainable development.

At the inaugural ceremony, organisers will also felicitate eminent personalities who have made significant contributions to the growth of Ayurveda- and wellness-based tourism.

Strategic Role in Global Wellness Tourism

Moreover, the conclave will serve as a strategic platform for knowledge exchange, policy dialogue, B2B networking, and international collaboration. Consequently, it will accelerate Kerala’s emergence as one of the world’s most trusted destinations for Ayurveda and holistic wellness tourism.

Key Panel: Kerala as a Global Hub of Ayurveda

On the inaugural day, a high-level panel discussion on ‘Kerala as a Global Hub of Ayurveda’ will feature Dr. T. S. Krishna Kumar, CRAV GURU, Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth, Ministry of Ayush, New Delhi; Dr. Indulal, Trustee, Akami Ayurveda Foundation, Angamali; Mr. Jose Dominic, Co-founder, CGH Earth Experience; and Dr. Alathiyoor Narayanan Nambi, Principal and Medical Director, Ashtangam Ayurveda Chikitsalayam and Vidyameedham. Dr. Induchoodan, Medical Director, Rudraksham Arogyashramam and Member, National Ayurveda Tourism Sub-Committee of FICCI, will moderate the session.

Integrating Ayurveda and Yoga into Wellness Tourism

As per the press release, another key session on ‘Integrating Ayurveda & Yoga into Wellness Tourism’ will feature Dr. Hari Pallatheri, Founder, Sudarshanam Ayurveda LLP and Chief Ayurveda Consultant, Isha Yoga Centre, Coimbatore; Mr. Kaithapram Vasudevan Namboothiri, Director, Patanjali Yoga Training & Research Centre; Dr. Nariparambu Devan Nampoothiri; and Dr. Raveendranath P. M. S., Medical Director, Poonthottam Ayurvedasram. Dr. Yadunanandan K. P. will moderate the discussion.

Focus on Research and Global Acceptance

In addition, the session on ‘Research in Ayurveda and International Acceptance’ will include Dr. P. R. Ramesh, Clinical Research Head, Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakkal and NABH AYUSH Assessor; Dr. Pradeep K., Professor, Government Ayurveda College, Kannur; Dr. Ram Manohar, Research Head, Amrita Ayurveda; and Dr. Kiratha Moorthi, Principal, Vishnu Ayurveda College. Dr. Manoj Kaloor will serve as the moderator.

Medical Value Travel and Ayurveda

Day one will also feature a session on ‘Medical Value Travel & Ayurveda’, with participation from Mr. Baby Mathew, Chairman and Managing Director, Somatheeram Ayurveda Group; Mr. Karthik Dave, Managing Director, IdeeGlobous Reisen; Mr. M. D. Javed Khan, General Manager, Tulah Clinical Wellness; and Mr. C. S. Vinod, Managing Director, ITP Tourism Managers Pvt. Ltd. Mr. Sivaprasad P. V., Founder and Director, MCS Medical Tourism Pvt. Ltd., will moderate the session.

Structured B2B Meetings on Day Two

On February 3, a day-long structured B2B interaction will take place at Dimora Hotel, Thondayad Bypass Road, near Cyberpark, Kozhikode. The meet will connect 150 international and domestic buyers with 100 Ayurveda service providers from Kerala.

Furthermore, the event will facilitate extensive networking among 100 Kerala sellers, 120 international agents and operators, 30 Indian agents and operators, 30 yoga operators, and 50 international and Indian bloggers and media representatives.

Strengthening Medical Value and Wellness Tourism

Through these interactions, the conclave will focus on strengthening Kerala’s position in medical value travel, wellness retreats, Ayurveda healthcare, and yoga tourism.

Post-Conclave Familiarisation Tour

Following the conclave, organisers have planned a familiarisation tour for international Ayurveda and yoga ambassadors starting February 4. The tour will begin in Kozhikode and conclude in Thiruvananthapuram on February 12.

During the tour, delegates will visit Ayurveda resorts, wellness retreats, yoga destinations, Ayurveda hospitals, and manufacturing facilities across Kerala.

Showcasing Culture and Heritage

In addition, the programme will include curated cultural and heritage experiences such as Kerala Kalamandalam, Kochi–Muziris Biennale, Kochi Port Cruise, and other major attractions. Together, these experiences will offer delegates comprehensive exposure to Kerala’s Ayurveda, wellness, and cultural ecosystem.
