KIMS Hospitals, Thane, in collaboration with Medulance, unveiled the region’s first AI-integrated 5G Smart Ambulance—marking a breakthrough in emergency medical services. This pioneering initiative combines real-time patient monitoring, artificial intelligence, and ultra-fast 5G connectivity to deliver advanced pre-hospital critical care.
Live Demonstration Showcases Next-Gen Capabilities
During a live press briefing, the hospital demonstrated its smart ambulance. It transmits ECG, blood pressure, and oxygen data to the ER en route. Unlike conventional 5G-enabled ambulances, this system uses AI to continuously analyze patient vitals. It generates actionable insights, allowing doctors to start life-saving protocols before the patient arrives.
Transforming the Golden Hour Response
Dr. Ankit Biyani, Head of Emergency Medicine at KIMS Hospitals, highlighted the impact of this innovation: “The golden hour can mean the difference between life and death in cases of trauma, cardiac arrest, or stroke. With our AI-integrated 5G Smart Ambulance, clinical decisions can begin before the patient reaches the hospital—redefining what timely intervention means.”
A Commitment to Patient-First Innovation
Saurabh Gupta, Regional COO of KIMS Hospitals, Thane, emphasized the broader vision: “This launch is more than a technological milestone—it reflects our deep commitment to patient-first innovation. By merging 5G connectivity with AI capabilities, we aim to reduce emergency response times and elevate the standard of care for people in Thane and across Maharashtra.”
Enhancing Critical Care Outcomes
Dr. Amit Raodeo, Chief of Critical Care, reinforced the value of early data access in critical scenarios: “With emergencies, every second matters. The AI-driven smart ambulance provides a clinical window even before the patient reaches us, which can make the difference between full recovery and long-term complications.”
Smart Features for Smarter Response
As per the press release, attendees saw the system’s real-time telemetry, AI analytics, and HD communication tools in action. These features worked seamlessly over low-latency 5G networks. Emergency teams can communicate with ambulance staff and monitor data live. They prepare the emergency bay in advance, maximizing the ‘Golden Hour Advantage’.
Setting a New Benchmark in Emergency Medicine
With this launch, KIMS Hospitals becomes the first in the Thane region to deploy a fully AI-integrated 5G Smart Ambulance. This initiative positions the hospital as a leader in next-generation emergency care. It also sets a new benchmark for hospitals in Maharashtra and India. The collaboration with Medulance brings together cutting-edge technology and clinical excellence. It paves the way for smarter, faster, and more responsive emergency care.
