Congenital heart disease (CHD) remains one of the most common birth defects worldwide. In India, approximately 200,000 children are born with CHD each year. Notably, nearly 25–30% of these children require immediate medical or surgical intervention within their first year of life.
However, limited access to early diagnosis, a shortage of specialized pediatric cardiac centers, financial constraints, and low awareness often delay or prevent timely treatment. As a result, many children do not receive the care they urgently need.
Building a Collaborative Care Ecosystem
To tackle these challenges, KIMS SATHI goes beyond traditional hospital care. It actively builds a robust ecosystem that includes pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anesthetists, intensivists, paramedical staff, NGOs, corporate CSR partners, volunteers, and support teams.
