Lupin Limited launched Formoflo-G® MDI, a fixed-dose triple-combination metered-dose inhaler (MDI) for the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in India, following approval from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI). The company describes the launch as a significant development in respiratory care, offering an additional treatment option for eligible patients living with COPD.
Triple-Combination Inhaler for COPD Treatment
Formoflo-G® MDI combines three active ingredients: Glycopyrronium Bromide, Formoterol Fumarate and Fluticasone Propionate. According to Lupin, the inhaler is intended for the long-term management of moderate to severe COPD. The product offers a fixed-dose combination in a single inhaler, administered twice daily. By bringing together three established therapies, it adds another option for healthcare professionals managing patients who require this combination. COPD remains a major public health concern in India, affecting millions of people and contributing significantly to respiratory illness, disability and premature deaths.
