Marengo Asia Hospitals has reinforced its footprint in western India through the majority acquisition of Sunshine Global Hospitals, a leading multi-specialty hospital chain in Gujarat. Sunshine Global Hospitals operates in Surat and Vadodara with a combined capacity of 350 beds. This marks a significant addition to Marengo Asia’s growing healthcare network.
Strengthening Gujarat Operations
With this acquisition, Marengo Asia Hospitals further consolidates its presence in Gujarat. It already manages two hospitals in Ahmedabad and Bhuj. The integration of Sunshine Global Hospitals aligns with Marengo Asia’s vision to expand access to advanced tertiary and quaternary care. It also reinforces the group’s focus on creating Centers of Excellence across medical specialties.

This acquisition follows Marengo Asia Hospitals’ recent expansions beyond Gujarat. The group recently entered Varanasi through its partnership with Metis–The Medicity, marking its debut in Uttar Pradesh. In addition, the network extended its global reach with its first international collaboration in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). This was achieved through a strategic alliance with Specialized Najran Hospital.
Through these expansions, Marengo Asia now operates eight hospitals across India and abroad, with a total capacity of 2,500 beds, supported by a team of over 900 doctors and 5,200 employees.
