Shri Sathya Sai Heart Hospitals in Ahmedabad and Rajkot signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat Health Department to provide free heart surgeries for the people of the state. The agreement marks a significant milestone in public-private collaboration to improve cardiac care access.

MoU Signed in Presence of Key Dignitaries

Dr. Ratankanvar H. Gadhavicharan, Secretary of the Gujarat Health Department and Commissioner of Health (Rural) & Mission Director, National Health Mission, signed the MoU on behalf of the state government. Representing Shri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital, Managing Trustee Shri Manoj Bhimani formalized the agreement. Distinguished guests Shri Kanchanbhai Patel and Shri Dushyantbhai Patel also graced the occasion.

Free Heart Surgeries for Gujarat’s Needy Patients

Under this initiative, all underprivileged children and adults in Gujarat will receive heart surgeries completely free of cost at the Rajkot and Ahmedabad branches of the hospital. Initially, patients from six districts will be referred to the Ahmedabad unit for treatment.

So far, the hospitals have served patients representing over 60% of India’s population.

As per the press release, the Rajkot and Ahmedabad centers boast advanced medical infrastructure. The Kashindra hospital, in particular, features 310 beds, 4 operation theaters, 4 ICU-ICCU units, and a Cath Lab. It specializes in free pediatric cardiac surgeries, procedures that typically cost ₹3 to ₹5 lakhs in other hospitals.
