Training Workshops Crucial for Young Doctors, Says Dr. Bhaskar Rao: International Conference on Vascular Diseases Held in Hyderabad

Dr. Bhaskar Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of KIMS Group of Hospitals, emphasised the importance of continuous learning and practical exposure for young medical professionals. He said that training workshops and academic conferences play a vital role in equipping doctors with the latest knowledge and skills in vascular medicine.

Conference Focuses on Advancements in Vascular Treatment

Dr. Bhaskar Rao made these remarks while addressing the international conference titled “Vascular Voyages – Fem Pop: Mystery to Mastery.” The event aimed to increase awareness about vascular diseases and introduce advanced treatment techniques to doctors.

The three-day conference attracted vascular specialists from India and several other countries. In addition, organisers scheduled a special one-day hands-on training workshop at KIMS Hospitals in Secunderabad to provide practical learning opportunities for participants.

Platform for Knowledge Sharing

The KIMS Institute of Vascular Sciences and the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Hyderabad organised the conference.

While speaking as the chief guest, Dr. Bhaskar Rao said it was a matter of pride that vascular surgeons and specialists from different countries had participated in the conference. Experts shared their experiences on recent developments, modern surgical techniques and advanced endovascular treatment methods.

He further noted that the conference placed special focus on the latest technologies used in treating femoropopliteal artery diseases. Such knowledge-sharing platforms, he added, help technology evolve further and benefit the medical community.

As per the press release, the conference created an important forum for specialists to exchange insights and discuss emerging trends in vascular medicine.

Rising Burden of Peripheral Vascular Diseases

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Narendranath, Organising Chairman of the conference and Clinical Director of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at KIMS Group of Hospitals, highlighted the growing prevalence of peripheral vascular diseases.

He explained that conditions such as diabetes, smoking, hypertension and sedentary lifestyles significantly contribute to the rise in these diseases. These conditions reduce blood flow to the legs and feet, which can cause symptoms such as pain while walking and non-healing wounds. If patients do not receive timely treatment, severe cases may eventually require amputation of the affected limb.

Scientific Sessions and Live Demonstrations

The conference featured a comprehensive scientific programme that included academic sessions, panel discussions and case-based discussions. Experts also deliberated on advanced treatment techniques.

In addition, organisers conducted live demonstrations in the endovascular suite and operation theatres. These sessions allowed young doctors and medical residents to observe procedures closely and gain valuable clinical insights.

Hands-on Training for Young Doctors

During the live workshop at KIMS Hospitals, specialists will demonstrate complex vascular surgeries, open bypass procedures and advanced endovascular interventions. Participants will also receive simulation-based hands-on training.

The organisers noted that such training programmes help young doctors develop practical skills and confidence in managing complex vascular conditions.
